Dramatists Guild of America presented the conversation Beyond Angry Lesbians and Gay Best Friends: Writing Gender and Sexuality in the 21st Century livestreamed on the global, commons-based peer-produced HowlRound TV network at howlround.tv on Tuesday 25 November 25at 2:30 p.m. PST (Los Angeles)/ 4:30 p.m. CST (Chicago)/ 5:30 p.m. EST (New York)/ 22:30 GMT (London).

Panelist Bios:
Sylvan Oswald (moderator) is a trans interdisciplinary playwright and assistant professor at UCLA's Theatre Department. His work has been produced/developed at Clubbed Thumb, New Georges, Soho Rep, St. Ann's Warehouse, About Face Theatre, and Undermain Theater among others. Sylvan recently created the web series Outtakes. He is a resident playwright at New Dramatists.

Christina Anderson's plays include The Ashes Under Gait City, pen/man/ship, Good Goods, and Man in Love. Her work has appeared at The Magic Theater, Yale Rep, Steppenwolf, The Public, and other theatres all over the country. She teaches playwriting at Purchase College and is currently a playwright-in-residence at Rutgers University. She’s a member of New Dramatists. 

Madeleine George's plays include The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence (Pulitzer Prize finalist, Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Award), Seven Homeless Mammoths Wander New England (Susan Smith Blackburn finalist), Precious Little, and The Zero Hoir (Jane Chambers Award, Lambda Literary Finalist). She's a resident playwright at New Dramatists and a founding member of the Obie Award-winning playwrights' collective 13P (Thirteen Playwrights, Inc.).

David Grimm is a Brooklyn-based playwright and screenwriter. Most recently, he wrote and adapted the dialogue for Matthew Barney’s film, River of Fundament, which premiered at BAM. His plays, which include Tales from Red Vienna, Measure for Pleasure, Kit Marlowe, The Miracle at Naples, The Learned Ladies of Park Avenue, and Steve & Idi, have been produced by Manhattan Theatre Club, The Public Theatre, Huntington Theatre Company, Hartford Stage, La Jolla Playhouse, Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, and others.
