No Dream Deferred presented HBCU Theatre Summit’s keynote speech livestreaming on the global, commons-based, peer-produced HowlRound TV network on this page on Friday 14 April 2023 at 9 a.m. PDT (San Francisco, UTC -7) / 11 a.m. CDT (New Orleans, UTC -5) / 12 p.m. EDT (New York, UTC -4).

Keynote speech delivered by actor Doug Spearman (Noah’s Arc).

The Summit offers Black theatre students a chance to see our new original work productions running in rep at the André Cailloux Center. They also have the opportunity to participate in our workshops and sessions for acting, design, tech, production, writing, directing, and so much more. This year’s HBCU Theatre Summit includes a monologue showcase as well as a theatre practitioner portfolio review. These events were created to allow the students to display and share their work with their peers and other professionals.
